C W History

C W Construction Co., Inc., first operated as C W Window Co. when it was purchased in 1970 by our President, Donald (Don) Girard, from Bud Charbonneau of Adams. Don had worked for C W Window Co. during his high school and college years. Bud Charbonneau had been in business himself for over 20 years.

The name's initials, C W, come from its originators, Bud and his partner, Dick Wagenknecht. In 1985, the business was incorporated as C W Construction Co., Inc. The name was changed to reflect the fact that the company offers more products and services than just windows.

At the time of its incorporation, the business was operated by all 5 of the Girard brothers. Since then, ownership has undergone change, and the business is now owned and operated by Don and Gerald (Gerry) Girard.

In 1985, the business purchased the building where it now resides - the former Howland Avenue School Building at 46 Howland Avenue, Adams, MA. The building had been empty for several years and was on its way to deterioration. We are proud to have been a part of saving this fine old building from future destruction.
